TPA has been contracted by the Rotorua Chamber for our annual Rotorua Business Awards event. The Rotorua Business Awards is regarded by the community as “the Business Party of the Year”. It is a black-tie event and attracts well over 800 people, to sit down three course dinner with professional entertainment and wine laid on.
It is regarded by many as the best business event of its kind, in the country. JR and the team have been an absolute joy to work with. There’s no better feeling than knowing your biggest event of the year is in such capable and professional hands. Big events take so much of one’s time and can go horribly wrong if competence and professionalism is not present at all levels. We have used other providers in past years but seeing it all come together the way only these guys can do – with lights, cameras, sound effects and fantastic AV – turns it into an evening of non-stop goosebump moments.

Thanks to COVID-19, NKBA’s annual Conference was cancelled in July, however the Executive made the decision to proceed with the Excellence in Design Awards albeit delayed until September. Attendance is usually 250-300 pax. We had begun working with JR on plans for our event when the relapse of the pandemic occurred. Our one event became five Award Hubs around the country which entailed a massive amount of co-ordination. We had a live MC at one of the Auckland Hubs streamed out to the other four hubs which was a resounding success. TPA provided the MC, live entertainment, photographers, co-ordinated with Stream Shop to ensure there were no technical
problems and liased with our team on the ground on the night plus more. To pull this scale of event off at any time is incredible but to do this during level 2.5 lockdown in Auckland was amazing. Our members were blown away and the value it has brought to the Association is incalculable. Registrations were 290 pax, the second highest attendees in NKBA history. I have been in this role for 8 years and in all this time JR is one of the best, most supportive people I have had the pleasure of working with. The support JR provided from an operational perspective was incredibly valued. He provided solutions to problems, made things run smoothly in the lead up and was never a bother.
